On Saturday August 1st, The Niagara County Young Democrats hosted a door-to-door food drive in Lewiston, New York to benefit the Niagara Falls Community Mission Food Kitchen & Pantry.

I'm very proud to report that the food drive exceeded all of our expectations!  Our group managed to collect enough food to provide meals to roughly 150 families through the Community Mission in just one single afternoon.

Our Young Dems sprawled out all over the village knocking on doors and the residents of Lewiston really showed their commitment to our community with an outpouring of donations and support.  Without their generosity our food drive would not have been nearly as successful.

I would also like to thank Tops Market in Lewiston for allowing us to setup a collection table right in the entrance of the store - it proved to be a very successful location!
